Fashion's a funny thing. Exactly one year and two days after the stylish Alison Haislip was one of the few women during all of 2014 to wear high boots(see below), E News runs a feature about how fab they are.  Thanks to my good friend Dr Morgus for both clips.

From the archives of Dr Morgus we see this clip from one year ago (12/16/14) of known boot-girl Alison Haislip rocking a nice pair of OTK's.  Despite the fact that they were deeply unfashionable a year ago, she looked great in these solid-footed lace-up boots.

Boot Girls

Mary J. Blige, Reba McEntire, Jane Fonda, Lindsey Lohan (circa 2007) Kylie Minogue: these are boot goddesses. They don't travel in the same orbits as we mortals do.  Boot girls could live next door (if you're very, VERY lucky).  I've known a handful of boot girls. As I've said previously they might not love boots the way we do, but thank God for them.

As I'm sure you've noticed I'm currently obsessed with Alison Haislip. In the coming months, we'll be seeing much more of Tanya Memme. The Booted Newswomen Blog has done a wonderful job cataloging the many boots of the charming Kim Horcher. I know that the Newswomen Blog is much more popular than mine and I'm certain that you, my dear reader, are already aware of the magnificence that is Ms Horcher. You may remember I became distractingly obsessed with the fetching young Miss Haislip for a day or two in late April.  At the time I observed that she probably had more boots in her closet than all other types of shoes combined. The 4 pictures above are from the 4 Game of Thrones re-cap podcasts she's done for the current season of that HBO show.  4 shows, 3 pairs of boots (and those things in the second shot that some would call boots).  I'll admit the knee-high sneakers in the last shot aren't my favorite, but considering what most women would wear in Los Angeles in late April/early May, I'll give her credit for trying.

I've always been thankful for "boot girls." I know they don't love boots the way I love boots, but I'm really glad they're out there.

BTW-the GOT recap show she co-hosts is above average and has several things going for it(if you're a fan of the show). None of the 3 hosts have read the books, which cuts down on the atmosphere of   smugness and hinted spoilers. For us, the podcast is nicely shot without any real distraction from a tiny coffee table that doesn't block our view. Last one for now (probably). Read down the page for the continuing tab-clearing adventures of my mega-crush on Alison Haislip. I feel like I've been self-indulgent taking up this much of your time. But......Anyway, only a few glimpses of her OTK's in this one. Now I can close a bunch of tabs and feel like I didn't completely waste that Thursday when I spent HOURS looking for Haislip bootage.

More Alison, different boots. I'm not usually a quantity over quality guy, but I respect the depth of her closet. She's not at the personal stylist/getting free stuff level of fame. I'm pretty sure she's just a Jersey girl who likes her boots.

The Alison Haislip tab clearing continues. After viewing 100's of clips I've come to the conclusion that the lovely Alison probably owns more boots than all other types of shoes combined.  Sadly, they're often not quite to my liking, or more often not seen on camera. Since her G4/Attack of the Show days she's been doing TONS of podcasts and the vast majority of those are shot from the waist up (or at a table).  The boots she's wearing (check around :40)here are borderline acceptable, the person wearing them is borderline Goddess.

More Alison Haislip tab clearing. I wasted the better part of Thursday obsessing on Alison, so you might have to put up with a few more of these. BTW-I've become aware that Attack of the Show clips seem to be blocked in the UK. I'll try to come up with some work-around.

The tab clearing continues.  Alison Haislip (nerd girl extraordinaire) does some funky robot dancing in her favorite OTK's.   Yes, they've fallen slightly below her knees in this clip but my boot nomenclature guide clearly states OTK's are still OTK's even when scrunched down a bit. And it's Alison Haislip, who I love.
