Broadway's "Hamilton" | Talks at Google

In case you missed it. A member of the Hamilton cast sits down for a long interview while wearing a delightful pair of day boots. She's just a little nervous and fidgety and the camera set up insures LOADS of full boot views.

Cauldron of HD

There are a number of odd things about Cauldron of Blood. (1970). Why is there so much leather in it? Why is the grandma wearing traditional dress AND Courreges boots? Why did this HD version languish on my harddrive for 3 years despite being a special request by my good friend Dr Morgus? Is it just a coincidence that my original posting of this was only 5 days shy of exactly 3 years ago? Why is that booted cat-fight at the end so darn dark? Why do I like that teal shirt and leather pants combo despite it being bootless? Why can I never figure out how to finish posts like this?

Jacqueline Bisset In actual HD

Ages ago (coincidentally,  it was exactly 2 years and 3 days ago)  I posted this clip of  Jacqueline Bisset, thighbooted in Class (1983) and bemoaned that despite what the file name claimed it was definitely NOT in HD. This version looks great and you can clearly see strapping detail on the shafts of her boots that I hadn't seen before.

This is only here right now because I stumbled across the BluRay version a couple of days ago and this is such an easy trim that I didn't have to store all 7gb's of the full movie on my hard-drive until I got to it "someday." Snip, snip, upload, done.

Miss Keys, part 2

From the 2009 World Series. If you wanted to argue that 9 years ago, suede/fabric thighboots had a better shaped foot, I could not disagree.  I do have to say that for a 9 year old clip the quality is superb and her outfit still quite fashionable.

These two clips (this and the one below) only bubbled to the surface because I was reminded of Alicia's booted turn in Smokin' Aces (2007) and wondered if I had a quality version. As of yesterday I did not. However my hard-drive search turned up these two clips which I felt deserved a viewing.

From a mere 9 years ago: known boot-iphobe Alexa Chung's head does not explode as she is approached by Alicia Keys wearing a tasty pair of 2 tone boots. I'm not sure where I got this, I think it might have been a general interest clip sharing site.

Thanks

It's fashionable to say, "I don't really care how many readers my blog has."  That's partially true. I know the audience for this kind of safe-for-work, observational blog is limited. But, on the other hand I don't want to just be shouting down a well. Look at the chart of my daily page views above.  Can you spot the day that my friend Tamaro Benz gave me a "he's back" shout-out on his irreplaceable Newswomen Blog?
So, thanks to TBenz,  I appreciate it more than he could know.  I also want to take a moment to thank John Smith. I will always be in his debt for his delightful fashion blog. I want to say in a format more permanent and visible than the comment section that I completely remember our conversations about One Day at at Time and plan to resurrect the "Barbara scalps tickets out of her boot" scene as soon as possible.
It would take me ages to craft a complete list of all the people I'm grateful to (...to whom I am grateful?). Let's leave at these two for now and I'll take this up later.

That Show

As the following posts will attest, I like Gotham....a lot. It's probably one of my favorite shows. And not just for the boots and the crazy. I found the Ed and Oswald and Fish and Butch and Don Flacone story lines to be every bit as engaging as Babs and Tabby.  The show finds a nice middle ground between the camp of the Adam West series and the 90's movies and the overwhelming  heavy-handed ponderousness of  the Dark Night movies. I'll be sorry to see it end after the upcoming, abbreviated season.

Just about every one of the clips below run too long. I like those characters and am emotionally invested in them. I meant for these clips to be rough drafts and I planned to go back and trim them further before posting. I couldn't. They were in danger of becoming stale and getting pushed down my queue until they disappeared into my unfinished projects purgatory.  They were too good for that. I've got one other Gotham related project I want to take care of and then I'm taking a break before I assail the disappointing season 4.

p.s. Whoever designs Tabby's outfits owes a HUGE debt to Mistress Nikita of Florida.... if you know, you know.

So, it was all leading up to this, an epic double thighboot battle between Babs and Tabby(Gotham s03e22). There's some other stuff mixed in there, and we're left with the promise of a future alliance  that held great promise, but never really paid off in season 4.

A while back I said, "this isn't a psychopaths in party dresses and pumps blog." BUT.....crazy bitches in boots, leather and fur are a different story. Here we see the awful consequences of them failing to properly shod Evil Lee.

It takes all the mental power I can muster not to obsess over the fact that the contact sheet is above rather than below the still-caps. Let it go, Bruce....this is Gotham s03e20.

This edit of Gotham s03e17 is probably the loosest I've ever done. Yes, the scene with Babs and Ed goes on much longer than it should.

Tabby comes back into her own in Gotham s03e16. And we see what I think is the only quality bootage on Lee Tompkins throughout the run of the show, despite TWO "Evil Lee" story arcs.  Please don't quibble with me that "Queen of the Narrows" Lee isn't technically evil.
