Alyson Hannigan gets just a little freaky

From the early days of my youtube channel, now getting the "full blog" treatment.

From American Reunion (2012), Alyson wears some kinky kit including knee high boots for a lawn confrontation. She's pretty handy with that crop.

About 18 years ago I was eating lunch in a popular restaurant on the 3rd Street Promenade in Santa Monica. Buffy The Vampire Slayer was just becoming really popular. I glanced up and saw Alyson Hannigan coming out of an unmarked door(presumably a private dining room).  It was a rare rainy day in Southern California and it looked like she had gotten caught out in the storm. She seemed like a damp, tired 24-year-old who was having a rough day.  We made eye contact just as I recognized her. She saw my flash of recognition and quickly scanned the room for routes to the exit.  She visibly slumped when she saw that she'd have to walk right past my table. She was clearly anticipating some sort "Oh my God, you're that girl from that show," fanboy encounter. She put her head down and started trudging towards my table. I put my head down and concentrated on my lunch. As she passed unmolested I imagined I could feel her relief and mute appreciation.

I've never had a clearer understanding of the downside of fame. She was just some girl who'd achieved a degree of early success in her chosen field.  A year earlier she might have been waiting tables at the same restaurant. Now she had to worry about strangers accosting her in crowded diners.  There was something deeply genuine about her reaction that sticks with me to this day.

  1. I've never met her and am very unlikely to, but she strikes as quite normal and balanced.

  2. I finally saw this movie a couple of months ago and you know what I made a mental note to grab this scene and until you posted this I forgot about it. Oh my goodness I am losing my mind. Of course some may say I already have....
