I've long been a fervent "back-up all your data" evangelist. Despite a number of hard-drive failures over the decades, it's been ages since I've lost anything significant. It's a good thing I don't really care about anything on my phone. I've had SD cards fail on phone and tablet AND at some point last night my phone did a factory reset all on its own. My contacts were all on google, so that was easy, but I lost all my text history (which means more to me than it should) and some photos I wish I still had. It's not a gnashing of teeth and rending of garments tragedy the way losing my HD array would be, but....
I've said it before, I'll say it again...
If you don't want to lose it
Back it up.
