After yesterday's 70's retrospective, several people (well, 2) remembered this clip from One Day At A Time (S05E09) which also briefly features Barbara's shearling lined OTK's (but just having read the definition, they maybe more accurately described as shearling rather than shearling lined). This is another one that I had posted to youtube 2 years ago that is just now getting the full blog treatment.

  1. Funny as it sounds, this might be my favorite TV/movie boot moment of all time. Right up there with the first music scene from "Spring Break" and a variety of shots from 1990-92-era Soul Train.

  2. Doesn't seem strange. It's a good scene. I still get chills when I hear Maureen O'Hara say, "Get to it Mr Hawk." Who can say why a particular moment resonates?

  3. I remember another scene where she was polishing a leather pair of tan boots, I think it was also part of the opening scene - theme song montage.

  4. something about how she plops her leg up on the couch and pulls the money out of her boot ... gets me every time!

    1. Those are decent rips. I only checked out the cabin episode and it's at least as good as the one I found. Thanks for the link.
