70's Day Part 1-OTK's in ODAAT
I graduated from high school in 1979 (We are mighty, we are fine, we are the class of '79). So that half decade between '75 and '80 will always have a special place in my heart. You can have an intellectual appreciation of what came before and nuanced perspective of the fads that came after. But your environment at age 16 will likely feel more "right" than anything else. If you're 30, that's just a picture of some girl. If you're 55 you probably remember when every girl you knew wanted that haircut and owned that sweater. Don't get me wrong, the 70's were a fu@ked up decade. Anybody actually nostalgic for that period probably has a distorted memory. But I LOVE the boots.

One Day At A Time isn't great television, but in a 3 channel environment you take what you can get. There weren't many episode like this (S04E13) but there were often just enough boots to keep me interested. I still have a little crush on Valerie Bertinelli. Sorry about the quality. Only season 1 has been released on home video and the re-runs have stopped airing (what's up wit dat?)
This clip appeared on my channel two years ago, I'm taking this opportunity to give it the full blog treatment.

I spent forever trying find an online copy of the other ODAAT episode that featured these boots as it was one of my most memorably adolescent boot sightings. I did (and I think you've posted it as well), but it's lousy quality. Either way, LOVED Valerie Bertinelli back then ... in the later episodes of this show (when both her character and sister got married and moved in together with husbands), she wore a lot of great boots with knee-length skirts/dresses.
