Peel, Steed, Boots

From the not-good-at-all re-do of the 60's classic The Avengers(1998), John removes "Emma's" red suede boots and puts on a black leather pair. I think this scene was shot and edited by someone who didn't like boots. I also think the entire project was produced, written, cast and directed by people who didn't understand the charm of the original series.
The other boots in the movie will be a herculean task to trim but my friend JA requested this scene in particular. We've "known" each other for years and I still owe him a favor from when he reinstated my Celeboots account after I got my sorry ass hit by the ban-hammer.  But I think that after he sees this scene again he may realize that his memory of it was superior to its reality.

  1. I have to admit i liked that movie, and my favorite outfit was the long pink coat and matching boots with the big earrings. Worn while dealing with the colored bears.
It was perfect 60's style. Se i missed the 60's so reruns of the Avengers with Emma peel on late night tv with my mother were the closest i got. By the late 80's i was wearing all mums 60's and 70's boots and outfits. So Bruce i love the fashions.
Hot pants and OTK boots rule.

  2. Thanks Bruce! Yes you're right on both counts... My memory definitely played tricks on me, I recalled that scene as far more sexual (putting a lady's boots on should definitely be in that category!) I'd forgotten too about your ban! I don't visit forums much these days as they tend to be fairly sense of humourless. This and John Smith's fashion blog caters for my tastes.
