Had to split this into two segments, the second one is probably the best. I never noticed she briefly wears a white/cream pair of these boots-oh the wonder of HD.

That brings back great memories, although Linda Thorson was probably my least favourite Avengers girl, the scene where she first turned up wearing those boots possibly started my fascination with thigh boots, along with Katya Wyeth on the UK series "the sky's the limit" who used to wear long black boots like these with short hot pants. I know there were lots of boots around in that period but being really young at the time I probably didn't watch too much TV and never really saw anyone else wearing high boots like those.
ReplyDeleteI remember it was an age of innocence as I asked my older sister why she didn't get some, and just got a knowing smile? would have been so much better than her horrible tan suede knee highs.

I cringed when I'd first seen these in the 1990's when A&E aired reruns. That was before the Avengers episodes got cleaned up. When they got cleaned up theres more detail and brightness. But these blu ray pics show a little more wrinkles and seams that I'd never seen before on those boots. Even when her foot nudges the picture frame on the floor I thought it was someone (stunt woman?) else posing with ankle shoes/boots in brown leg socks. It didn't look like those boots. The BR pics confirm its the thigh boots leather up the shin and calf. Oh my. I just can't over that a lady would wear these thigh, stretchy leather boots. So in love with Linda Thorson from this series. There's also the episode with the martians title and Tara Kings in a leather tan vest and pants with boots through the whole show almost. BR pics from this episode would be great. Also she wears the cream/white thigh boots in another episode in the start. I forget the title buts its the one the bad guy that goes invisible from the water. The start of it shows Steed with all his war friends. Tara's in some white coverall like dress and when his friends leave she tells Steed she liked his friends very much. Thats when Steed says he wouldn't be alive without them today. Shes on the couch and legs bent up on the couch in those thigh white boots. Yes her first episode she wears these brown thigh boots in the Forget Me Knot episode.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the tip one the "missing" episode. I've already got HD versions of Forget Me Not and Invasion of the Earthmen (tan leather suit episode). Didn't know about the additional episode, am tracking it down now.
