What Happened To Meredith Vieira?

You may or may not know that newswoman Meredith Vieira has a daily talk show.  It is irrelevant to our purposes because she's never worn boots on her show (well I record it every day and haven't seen it).  This would not normally be worth mentioning. Lots of women don't wear boots.  But few women  have a history of being as well booted, as often, as Meredith.  Her run in the early aughts is the stuff of legend. I had forgotten just how bootie she was until I stumbled across stoneinboots's photobucket-

A wonderful lo-res time capsule. The only time I've been to Manhattan,  we walked by the Today Show studio and Meredith was doing an outside segment.  It was a cold March morning and I saw a lot of boots that day. But nothing compared to the exquisite quality and workmanship of the boots Meredith Vieria was wearing.  They look good on TV, from 15 feet away they were breathtaking. 

Another missing-in-action newswoman-Hoda Kotb was booted virtually every fall/winter morning during her first season on The Today Show.  I tried to keep track and as I recall she went about 45 straight days in various knee boots and skirts. When was the last time you saw her in boots?
