1999-2014 How Things Can Change-Shania Twain Edition

In April of 1999 (It was '99 despite what the caption says) the Internet Boot Community went bonkers over Shania Twain's Grammy outfit. Thigh boot sightings were quite rare at the time and this was a stop the presses moment. Recording on VHS was the very height of technology.

4 years later thigh boot sightings were slightly more common, but it was still notable that she sang the same song in a similar outfit at the Super Bowl. Thankfully, it was recorded in that new fangled HD (even though nobody owned one). The Internet Boot Community certainly took notice

10 years after that in 2014, Shania Twain was performing nightly in Vegas and everybody has an HD video camera in their phone.
Thankfully, Shania's still singing Feel Like A Woman while wearing thigh boots. Here's two different views from the audience. These kinds of clips have become common and scarcely worthy of a mention.

I'm not sure why I get such a kick out of this, but it just makes me smile.

  1. There is no question this woman likes her boots, I am particularly fond of the black patent she wore at the super bowl that year. I just wish I could find a video of the first time I saw her in thigh highs, I think it was an awards show or a performance and Dwight Yokum (again I think) gave her a look as he walked onto stage with her. It was either dam girl you look hot, or damn girl what are you doing wearing an outfit like that here, either way it was priceless.

  2. Thanks for posting these videos and for also adding the history lesson. Hard to believe the progress in 15 years
