Yes, as we've seen recently with my own video-caps, many of the stills from the thumbnail page are borked. The .ts file should play just fine (it does for me on multiple players).  Other than this glitch, I'm happy with the process I'm using and I'm not going to lose a lot of sleep over a glitchy thumbnail page.
