From the deeply horrible Glitch! (1988). A lady enforcer in thigh high boots and leather strip-fences with a flaming stereotype. Back in the day, I was always surprised by how many other boot hobbyists knew about this steaming pile. As a "Hot Tub" movie set on the California coast it should not feature any boots. And yet it has a hall-of-fame worthy boot sequence. It would be above average if only for the scene where, in leather mini and gloves, she pulls a gun out of her thigh boots(a particular favorite of mine). The entire fencing scene is......Let's just say if I were to discover this movie today I would trumpet it as the hidden gem of the year. My enthusiasm for this is slightly tempered because I've been enjoying it for over 25 years now. If it's new to you(or you haven't seen it in years), I think you'll really enjoy it. The early scenes are a relatively tight edit, but I just let the fencing scene run without much trimming.
As I begin the lengthy process of starting to digitize my VHS boot compilations (this is NOT from my collection) I'm coming to the realization that the late 80's/early 90's were probably much bootier than we give them credit for. I'm building an argument that fashion mags and major studio productions did not give an accurate picture of the bootage "on the ground" and in lower budget fare.

  1. Totally remember this one! You're right. Awful movie. Pretty great boot action, though.

  2. Oh, man, that is solid gold.
His kung fu headband is written back to front.
Right way round it reads "nongtsuo", and means "fucked up big time", as in "to commit an error of epic proportions".
Your talents and your service to this community are greatly underrated, Mr. Smith.
