So I stumbled across an HD version of Rabid(1977). We've already seen a tolerable DVD rip here.  I don't need to re-state my deep love for a proper Frye-style boot. The scenes where Marilyn has her feet on the truck dashboard are some of my favorites. You never quite get over the styles of your youth.

  1. Oh yes, 1970s childhood memories... Norton Commando bike, rolled up jeans to show off the boots - lovely. Have to admit I have a greater penchant for the glossier dress boots worn in the shopping precinct ('mall' in American) but the Frye's are certainly great 'day' boots.

    1. The Fryes are what my classmates wore. My teachers wore the black boots. The black boots are great, but are more timeless. The Frye's represent a very narrow window in my development as a boot hobbyist.

  2. I still remember a girl at primary school in white PVC Go Go boots. I dropped pencils off the desk to enable me to duck down and perv at her boots. Oh dear.

  3. The girl who sat next to me in junior high social studies was wearing a pair of knee high tan suede boots under her jeans. One day we were talking and she plopped one foot on the edge of my desk, pulled up her pants to expose the length of her boots, unzipped them, rearranged her sock and zipped them back up again, all while flexing her ankle. I can't imagine I was able to form complete sentences.
I don't remember much about the entirety of 2012, but I remember that 30 seconds from 40 years ago like it was yesterday.
