From Il faut vivre dangereusement (1975). Here we see a much more European version of the 70's dress boot. These are simply stunning boots. I wish we could see more of them. Note they are looser to the leg (sans zip) than the boots we see below(from Kingdom of the Spiders). However they bear no similarities with the "Frye style" boot. These are a classic example of what AndyP has dubbed The Cossack Boot. My memory of what was in stores 40 years ago is cloudy. My sense is that in the states, boots of this quality would have only been available in a few of the finer stores in NY/LA/Chicago. The boots we saw below  could have been found in the "good" mall in Kansas City.

  1. This is just wonderful. Sophisticated French lady in classic 70s high leather boots. It takes me back to my 'impressionable' age & the start of my lifelong enthusiasm for ladies in fashion boots.
