I can't wrap my brain around this

This showed up on the safe-for-work but unfortunately named blousedmilffff's flickr stream this morning(there are more of them there).  I know I don't usually post pictures, but this seems to mean something. Every time I decided NOT to post this, my brain keeps coming back to it. I've chosen to use this as yet another example of the complete disconnect between the world of stylists who've declared any boot above the ankle to be horribly out of style and the world of what real women are wearing. As I've said before, a look at either the Newswomen Blog or John Smith's Blog shows ample evidence of the continued popularity of "real" boots.  This is despite the fact that they've almost completely vanished from movies and scripted TV.
I say this about Jane Fonda, I'm going to say it here. I understand if you don't like Sarah Palin. This is not the place to tell the world why.

  1. I can easily say that i may not agree at all with Mrs Palins politics but if she ran for primeminister in my country, i would vote for her. Like a submissive dog. She´s a Mistress in my book. Nice Picture, Bruce.

  2. Yeah, it's the skirt that pushes it over the top. They're quality boots, but paired with wool, I don't much notice. With THAT skirt? DAMN!

  3. This is blog to celebrate ladies in boots, not their politics. La Palin certainly appreciates a good pair of classic, sophisticated knee high boots. The fact she is wearing that lovely pencil skirt & satin blouse combo too means that she looks absolutely magnificent.

Love your measured anti AB comments, too Bruce. Far more eloquent than my years of on line ranting!

  4. Always have enjoyed her fashion sensibility usually with the mute button on, but the boots and attire have a throw back feel to them.
You spoke of the dearth of good boots on TV, where I've noticed it most is the talk show circuit. I can't remember seeing one good pair of boots on a late night chat show in the past few months. In years past there seemed to be so many more sightings (including on hosts -Chelsea Handler), I don't even think you see them on the view anymore. I'm calling it the Kelly Ripa effect, though I'm not sure she's that influential, but she so easy to blame with her apparent disdain of boot wearing. Hope that trend swings back again.
