Ankle Boots of Purely Historical Interest
André Courrèges was arguably one of the fathers of the boot era. I've always thought his creations were butt-ugly, but you don't have to think a Model T is beautiful to appreciate its importance to transportation. This scene from You're a Big Boy Now (1966) is as fine a view of these iconic boots as I've seen. And some people might enjoy the sight of a booted woman crushing someone under a Murphy bed. This morning was the first time I'd listened to the sound track of this clip. I don't believe she was wearing boots by accident.
