At the risk of sounding unbelievably spoiled, there are some current thighhigh/OTK boots I'm already becoming a little tired of. The pair below are a prime example. A cut-out toe AND a shaft construction almost indistinguishable from a long pair of tube socks. While I appreciate the effort....
On the other hand I have absolutely NO problem with the boots below. Now those are boots. While they may or may not be genuine suede, they clearly have a shape of their own. And a mighty pleasant shape at that.
Yes, this is just my opinion, I understand that yours maybe different. BUT I'm guessing a lot of you are nodding your head right now.
I think most of us will be in agreement. If overknees lose their boot shape, what's the point? And cutting out the toe just turns it into a non-boot, just as bad as cutting off the shaft altogether to make yourself a nice pair of sandals.
ReplyDeleteMylene Klaas is not on the telly here, so I don't know why people hate her so much, but she sure knows how to rock a good pair of boots.

Yes, I agree with you both. Mylene's wonderful boots (worn at V Festival recently) have made the usual internet appearances. I too am getting a little jaded by the endless sea of black, seemingly shapeless thigh highs (I reckon the wearers are fashion sheep, not boot lovers). The lovely (russet?) pair that Mylene rocks are a different story and I could admire them all day long.
