From Kingdom of The Spiders (1977), a good example of mid-70's dress boots. AndyP is looking at some of the cultural and continental variations of 70's boots over at MadeForWalking.  These boots are almost mid-Atlantic. They are different from "Frye-Style" boots because of the tight-to-the-leg-zip, a relatively thin sole and a somewhat taller, more tapered heel. However, being earth-tone and worn in this manner with denim, they would be almost interchangeable with Fryes. It is likely that only fashion historians or boot hobbyists would notice the difference.

Do not confuse the knee boots and skirt in Kingdom of The Spiders (1977) with the knee boots and skirt in Empire of the Ants (1977). "Empire" is set in the Everglades and stars Joan Collins in double-knit rather than denim. Otherwise they seem to be the same movie.
