Sure that quote from The Steve Harvey Show is probably the highlight of this clip, but we've also got Araksya Karapetyan as a spiky heeled Wonder Woman, Paige Hemmis shows off her OTK's two different ways, the most useless woman on earth does a Hamilton parody, a brief Tamron Hall sighting that I think the esteemed Jacob Itto missed (a rare miss by the official chronicler  of Today Show bootage), the aforementioned Tyra Banks sighting and we wrap up with too long a look at Wendy Williams' Uhura costume featuring a pair of 50/50's.

Oh, it used to be that Halloween was boot-heaven for daytime TV, sadly those days seem to have passed.

In today's mix, a make-up artist gives Halloween tips in fabric thighboots. A guest on Harry wears leather OTK's (I think there are at least 4 pairs of knee boots visible on the audience). The magnificent Galilea Montijo wears a pair of less magnificent thighboots on Hoy.  It's hard for me to believe that it was over 15 years ago that she was thrilling us with her bootie ways on VidaTV(old timers may remember). Regarding her boots, note if you will the open toe and instep. When combined with a certain....fussiness around the ankle the effect is more like a pair of ankle shoes paired with stockings (they are not, but you've got to double check and that's a big minus in my book).  For me, these boots are clearly inferior to the wonderful pair we saw on Ana Patricia in yesterday's post.

Continuing, we have Lara Spencer at her day job wearing heeled suedies and at her side gig in her flats. Please note in one scene we have 4 women, 3 in riders, one in OTK's. In real life this is not that unusual a sighting. But it's unheard of in scripted TV these days. On TheFlash/Arrow/AgentsofShield/TheMagicians/Blacklist/Scorpion/Quantico/et.al this would be presented as a festival of ankle shoes. Bastards! We wrap up with a fashion segment on the Today Show featuring Dylan Dreyer in OTK's and from Wendy Williams, the nicely booted presenter give us one costume worth viewing.

The Next Few Months

Right now I'm feeling more productive and focused than I have since I started this blog.  I know some of you are getting a little bored of the constant stream of daytime TV bootage. I feel your pain, but for the first time I know what I'm going to do tomorrow.  In the past I'd waste hours figuring out what I was going to post. I'd start down one direction and then get side-tracked or decide it wasn't really worth it or get distracted by any number of shiny objects. There were days when I'd sit here for 2 hours and wouldn't have a single new thing to post.

These compilation clips I'm making are the culmination of countless of hours of work I did during the winter.  Much of the time I was plagued by doubts that I'd ever really do anything with the 100's of gigabytes I was transferring from DVR to hard-drive. And now that I'm actually marching through them it feels great. A couple of days ago I decided I'd just go through the clips chronologically. When it's time to work on the blog, I know I stopped working on the the clips from Oct 27 (the day I transferred them, NOT the air-date which is lost) and I move on to the clips from the 28th.  It's liberating and productive and maybe the end result is a little monotonous. Someday I'm certain to get tired of it and move on to prime-time action shows and feature films (vintage and new).  I'll still take some detours with other clips that catch my fancy, but man, this really feels good right now.

A correspondent on E "News" wears a sweat-shirt, a frayed jeans skirt and mesh thighboots because you know, 2016. One house hunter wears a pair of tan riding-style OTK's (I miss those) while another wears a serviceable pair of supermarket boots(I'll miss these if/when women stop wearing them).  Jenna Bush Hager wears a pair fabric OTK's as she tours Graceland. Wendi Nix wears her pair in a delightful manner. I love it when the top of the shaft is just occasionally visible in the standing shots. Finally, if the ladies of The View still sat on a couch, this would have been a great episode. Instead it was 60 minutes of teeth gnashing.
