Getting this out of my system
A tiny clarification. I am fully aware the late night US talkshows have proper names. I know that technically it is "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert." I usually (99% of the time) shorten it to just "on Colbert" or "on Colbert's show."
No one has said anything about this to me, and I can't imagine anyone one would. But, the best journalism advisor I ever had was a stickler for proper first reference and our paper's stylebook. It drove me crazy, but instilled in me a higher level of discipline and respect for consistency. I get a little twinge every time I make a casual (on Kimmel) rather than complete (on Jimmy Kimmel Live!) first reference. And somehow, Mac would know that the complete name of the show included the exclamation point and would dink me if I left it off. But he could not cleanse me of my addiction to the parenthetical statement (but oh how he tried).

Just the prison yard fight scene from The Lost Empire (1984). Cheesy movies don't get much better than The Lost Empire. This fight scene is the best (and best known) part, but this movie is just deliriously fun. My first edit was too big, so I split it up into two chunks. Fight scene here, everything else one post down. My posting window is closing, so I won't be able to wax rhapsodic to the point I was hoping, but right now you're just here for Angelique Pettyjohn in all her dominatrix glory.
If she looks familiar, Angelique was the silver booted amazon in the classic Star Trek episode The Gamesters of Triskelion as well as a number of other TV and film appearances that showcased her tremendous assets. There is considerable evidence to support the belief that she worked as a pro domme in the late 70's and early 80's. There are a number of dungeon-esque photos of her in this exact outfit, which I presume was from her personal collection.
Trimming this down made me miss the 80's and the dawn of the video era ALMOST as much as I miss the late 70's. Of course I had this scene on one of my VHS compilation tapes and watching it gave me flashbacks.
