I love to label things. Categorizing helps me make sense of the world. There are nine pairs of over the knee boots in the two pictures above and to me they look almost identical.  I would hesitate to call them "stocking" boots.  The material is far thicker than a stocking. BUT, they are clearly more a fabric than a hide. I was looking at them and thought, "They kinda remind me of leg-warmers."  And the more I thought of it, the more it made sense. 

From now and forever forward, I will be refer to this sort of boot as LEGWARMER BOOTS. I have spoken.
