БОТФОРТЫ

A few pages ago I shared the Chinese characters for over the knee boots. In Russian it appears the closest thing to what we're looking for is-

If you insert this phrase into a google or youtube search you'll find things that might be new to you. Here's an example-



From quickie research it appears the most direct translation is Hessian boot, but it looks to me like it's the phrase most commonly used to refer to over-the-knee fashion boots. Not surprising since in Spanish it's often "botas mosqueteras" (musketeer boots) and common variations in both French and Italian refer their military/equestrian origins.
