60's Style OTK's in 5 Dolls For an August Moon

5 Dolls for an August Moon (1970) is an unexceptional Mario Bava giallo. Except for these exceptional brown suede 60's style OTK's (with buckle) on the lovely Ely Galleani (who was also in the hugely disappointing Baba Yaga).

A classic-Gus Hardin, "I Pass

"Gus Hardin" (born Carolyn Ann Blankenship-seen above) was a country singer who had a few minor hits in the mid-80's. One of them was "I Pass," a tale of a woman who refuses to take back a low-down skunk of a man. In the music video....well.... Gus decides that varmit needs to be taught a lesson.

Back in the day, my fevered imagination pictured what happened in the sequel, after the dogs drag him back. I know the quality of this ain't great but this is rarer than hen's teeth. This version is clearly a screen capture from Yahoo Music. I found this in 2008 and haven't seen any trace of it since. If you've got a better version I'd LOVE to see it. Clearly these aren't the best boots ever in a music video. And this MAY not be the best beatdown in music video. But I'm not sure there's a better music video at the intersection of boots and beatdown.

Some new fashion-y pics added to my flickr photostream

In Boots, she duels

I like lady pirates and lady musketeers and plucky young ladies who masquerade as Napoleonic  cavalry officers. Her boots are .....nice for what they are, but I love the rest of her uniform and the mischief she gets into.  I love the whole conceit in movies when a beautiful woman who looks absolutely NOTHING like a man manages to fool the world simply by slipping into trousers and boots(and maybe a fake mustache).
This is from a Russian bit of fluff called "Rzhevskiy protiv Napoleona" (Rzhevskiy vs Napoleon)(2012).  My research reveled, to my shock, that the winsome young lady at the center of this clip also played the evil, reptilian (oft leather clad) "Viper" in the newest Wolverine movie. Her name is Svetlana Viktorovna Khodchenkova, remember it, there may be a test on this material.
As a bonus there's a brief scene featuring a woman in blue suede thigh boots getting fitted with a chastity belt(?)

Kate Bush in THOSE Boots

You've probably seen some of these pictures of Kate Bush in a text book example of late 70's thigh boots. This style is arguably the rarest of the 4 or 5 thigh boot eras.  They are one of my favorites and I'm not sure if I'm attracted to the scarcity or if my fondness stems from being in high school from 76-79.  Some of these pictures have been floating around for decades, some of them I just found yesterday (some appear in the tumblr of the wise and magnificent AndyP) A while back I stumbled upon two music videos featuring Kate performing in these very boots. The quality is poor, and these are the best I've found, but I still consider them valuable additions.

The video from which the first four (most famous pics) were taken.

The next two are the same performance.

This one boasts a higher quality picture, but info bubbles often obscure the lower quarter of the frame-WHICH IS WHERE THE BOOTS ARE. It also starts with a number that has Kate seated behind a piano-jump to about 3:28 (BTW-sometimes I really hate blogger. Do they mean to make it impossible at times to embed the desired video?-This has already taken me an hour longer than I planned and I'm not wrestling with this ridiculous crap a moment longer)

At least in this one her boots aren't obscured by meaningless factoids-what hath Pop-Up-Video wrought?
