Just some guy obsessed with women wearing boots. Here you'll find all sorts of mostly safe-for-work bootage. The emphasis is on booted women in the popular media.

WHY!!!???? From Die Insel der blutigen Plantage (1983) The cruel guardess of the Blood Plantation spends the entire movie in cotton fatigues and combat boots, except for this 34 second scene. What a waste of a great leather outfit and boots.

Probably from Diabolicamente... Letizia (1975) Black grain leather boots to start (with a nice roll in the grass). Suede knee boots at the end.
The archetype of the ranchera dominatrix is surprisingly common in Latin American films and TV. Long before Latin Beauties in High Heels (if you know, you know) mainstream screens have been regularly graced by the dressed-for-riding figure of the rich and cruel lady landowner.
They could have been influenced by the disturbing tales of the real life La Quintrala (who's been the subject of at least 3 movies and a Telenovela). In any event, these mounted, whip-wielding terrors have been the bane of servants, serfs and romantic rivals for decades. On this blog we've seen her in a Santo movie and of course in the guise of the scenery chewing Abigail in Alma Indomable.
Dona Barbara is another oft-filmed variation of the type. There have been 2 feature films and a fourth TV show was just announced. Dona Barbara (1943) was the first adaptation of the well regarded novel from 1929. By later standards she's quite restrained. But the scene where she threatens her servant with a kicking while he's removing her spurs is as nice as any I've seen.
This last bit is an illustration of how I benefit from running this blog. As I was doing the research for this post I discovered the wonderful news that Telemundo has announced a new Telenovela that should air later this year.
These are two stills from it (BTW-in the 81 second trailer I counted 3 different pairs of boots).
I like women in boots. This should come as no surprise. Both women and boots are key ingredients and if forced to choose, I'd go with women every time. Unbooted women possess many attributes I find delightful. I have virtually no interest in boots without ladies. I know from experience that many people can take great enjoyment from pictures of just boots. I also understand that many people enjoy men in boots. I'm just not one of them.
So you can image that for me, the movie and musical Kinky Boots is a disappointment. This isn't a moral or esthetic judgement, simply a matter of personal taste. As a curmudgeon, I'd like to speculate that the pop culture pairing of cross-dressers and high boots is bad for us in the same way Pretty Woman probably led to the 90's/2000's boot drought. I'd like to speculate that, but since the popularity of the movie and musical has run parallel to the golden age of boots.........
Now, if it had been a tale of a struggling shoe company that decided to
cater to the boot needs of dominatrices, I'd probably consider it the
feel-good hit of the decade. Instead, its a simply a disappointment.
Except for one scene. One glorious, completely misguided scene. On the road to making stripper boots for England's drag community, our cobbler hero makes a pair of magnificent burgundy suede crotch high boots. And then he has his adorable assistant model them (after he awkwardly zips them up for her). For my money these boots are just a tapered toe and Cuban heel away from perfection. And the shaft could be a little more fitted around the ankle and calf.

Heel-heads will be disappointed by the suede crotch high flat boots in this scene from Kinky Boots (2005) But unlike all the other boots in the movie, this pair is worn by a woman.
I've got a good friend who has expressed admiration for the booted Latin ladies in Telenovelas. These are for him.
We've already seen a few clips from Alma Indomable. Here's another that's a sampler of deranged treats-BTW-the catfight mentioned is in the mud-
Shiny silver jeans tucked into heeled black leather knee boots? Yes please!
There's a good chance that the youtube channel that presented these is full of bootie goodness. But that's a rabbit hole I'm choosing not to jump down.
