Crotch-High's From the 60's What A Difference 4 Years Makes

(A problem with the blog format is that for developing stories, the original posts get pushed farther and farther down the page).

On Saturday, we saw a pair of boots from 1965.  A mere 4 years later we see an explosion of boots (and vinyl) in Dove vai tutta nuda? (1969).  Top buckled white thigh boots, black crotch high boots and mauve OTK's fight for screen time. There's so much shiny black vinyl in one outfit it took some sleuthing to make sure they were boots rather than pants (or one-piece boot pants) . The third screen cap clearly shows a stocking gap at the back of her thigh. Those are some tall boots.
I had hoped to craft an insightful essay on the radical (but brief) change in couture from 1967-69 as fashion pages went from Jackie O wool suits through shiny space-age wear before settling on variations on natural-fabric earth mothers that lasted for much of the 70's.  I wanted to do that. Instead I'll point out that for wet-boot fans there's a scene in the rain and a final scene where the black boots are wading through a flooded room.

  2. Another excellent clip! The 60's and the 70's were the best IMHO. Thanks for posting!

    1. I've got a real soft spot for the rare late 70's style OTK's, but yeah there's something about these as well.
