Late 60's/Early 70's Thigh boots side by side.

From Ingrid sulla strada (1973) 2 pairs of thigh high boots separated by about 4 years. The vinyl pair the brunette wears are typical of 1968, while the suede pair on the blonde are more representative of 1972(and oddly 2015). If I had known how bootie the rest of the movie was, I'd have trimmed more of the middle bit where she's just carrying around one boot. Muddy boot fans take special note-they never get covered in mud, but these boots get pretty soiled.

Turns out the whole movie is on youtube-It gets unpleasant in places. BTW-in the first scenes in the movie she's wearing thigh-high socks and the ugliest snow boots you've ever seen. Thankfully they're pulled off at around 21:11 and she changes into the brown suede pair for the rest of the movie.
