I like to provide a cinematic and historical background to films whenever I can. This is not one of those times. I've got too much capping and trimming ahead to wax rhapsodic about Queen Christina of Sweden and the Garbo movie (bootie as heck) and The Abdication (rarer, Liv Ullmann in a few thighboot scenes). Here's a newer take on the story that I just stumbled across last night.  This is The Girl King (2015). There are a few GREAT boot scenes featuring sensational cavalier boots. I fleshed the beginning out a little bit so you can get a sense of how wonderful Malin Buska is in the title role.  The movie itself seems like it would be worthy of a watch (esp if you like slow-paced simmering lesbian seduction mixed with historical intrigue). Anyway, here's the bootie bits. I think this is a hell of a movie that deserves a better introduction, but my mind is already leaping to my next project.
