A Russian Joan of Arc in Thigh Boots

From Nachalo (1970) an actress gets her big break playing Joan of Arc. I'm sure the two pairs of thigh high boots she wore helped her land the gig. Another one with some frustrating camera work.

I've read that one of Joan's "crimes," for which she was ultimately burned, was that she wore thigh high boots. I was aware that wearing men's clothes was among the charges brought against her.  Researching the claim that boots were named in particular always leads back to the same sketchy source.  Dramatically Joan is a frustrating character for boot hobbyists. Too often the "boots" she wears are more like pointy toed slippers OR whatever she's wearing on her legs is obscured by armor.
