Just some guy obsessed with women wearing boots. Here you'll find all sorts of mostly safe-for-work bootage. The emphasis is on booted women in the popular media.

Meyer from Berlin (1919) - Ernst Lubitsch: Director and Star
I got an e-mail last night from one of my oldest and dearest internet friends. He suggested I take a look at Meyer from Berlin (1919), particularly starting at the 49:27 mark. My goodness, this unlacing scene is fascinating. I think it's over-long for either comedic or dramatic purposes. The boots do not seem particularly appropriate for mountaineering. The triple buckle, narrow toe and high-heel (for the period) set them apart from the usual women's "sport" boot of the period. We get to see her traipsing around the Alps for 10 minutes or so prior to this cabin scene. Thanks for the tip Doug, the historians in the audience are in your debt. I'll try to get you a longer e-mail shortly.
