My love of booted women in period drag and pre-1960's bootage collide when you do much web searching for "As You Like It" one of Shakespeare's "woman disguised as a boy" comedies. Oddly the more popular Twelfth Night returns fewer hits. Judging by these pictures it's safe to say that turn of the century stage costumes easily outpace modern attempts.
Just some guy obsessed with women wearing boots. Here you'll find all sorts of mostly safe-for-work bootage. The emphasis is on booted women in the popular media.
